FTH Ethiopia has submitted a formal open letter to Pope Leo XIV and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church, calling upon both leaders to raise their voices in prayer, moral authority, and active advocacy on behalf of Amhara Orthodox Christians currently facing ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Oromia and Tigray regions of Ethiopia.

We have urged these global religious leaders to formally acknowledge and speak out against the systematic atrocities being carried out by Sudanese and Egyptian-backed terrorist networks, extremist Islamist movements, Qeerroo militias, and domestic and internationally linked terrorist organizations — including the TPLF and OLF — all of whom have actively targeted Amhara Orthodox Christian communities for forced displacement, cultural destruction, and ethnic annihilation.

FTH Ethiopia firmly believes that the moral and spiritual authority of global religious leadership is indispensable in bringing international attention to the plight of Ethiopia's most vulnerable faith communities, and in pressing world governments and international institutions to act with urgency and conviction before more innocent lives are lost.
